On February 23, Nataša Mirjanić, an accredited lecturer at the Office of the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, held a training on the application of the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance for the employees of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia. 54 members of the ministry attended the training. The goal of the training, in addition to the correct application of the Law, was also to solve problems that arise during the regular daily handling of requests for free access to information of public importance. The participants of the training were specifically familiarized with the deadlines for handling requests and complaints, as well as about the timely delivery of replying submissions. The course of the training was followed by a long discussion where numerous doubts about the application of the Law were resolved.

On February 22, 2024, Commissioner Milan Marinović and Deputy Commissioner Sanja Unković participated in the International Conference "Festival of Law and Social Protection 2024", which is being held today and tomorrow in Leskovac, organized by the Chamber of Social Protection and the Association of Social Protection Lawyers "Argument".

This Conference aims to highlight the various instruments for human rights protection and how these rights can be violated.

The Commissioner held a lecture on the topic of abuse of the right to free access to information of public importance to the participants of the conference, lawyers, and other professionals from the social protection system in the Republic of Serbia, while the Deputy Commissioner gave some interesting examples of the most common violations of the Personal Data Protection Law in her presentation.

On February 14, 2024, the Office of the Commissioner, in cooperation with the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue, held a training for representatives of state authorities in the Palace of Serbia on the preparation and submission of Information Booklets and Annual Reports under the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance. The training was attended by over 120 representatives of state authorities, who had many questions regarding the practical application of the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance.

The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, Milan Marinović, and the State Secretary in the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue, Dr. Ivan Bošnjak, gave opening remarks, while the employees of the Commissioner's Sector for Reporting and Analytical Affairs Zlatko Petrović and Mirela Zozi Jeković conducted the training and were answering to questions.
