Deputy Commissioner Sanja Unković held an introductory lecture at the opening of the Data Protection Officers Training second cycle at the National Academy for Public Administration (NAJU). The Deputy Commissioner introduced the participants of the training to the current situation in the field of personal data protection in the Republic of Serbia, emphasizing the importance and the role of the Data Protection Officer, and appealing to authorities and other Data Controllers who are obliged to designate a Data Protection Officer to do so as soon as possible and inform the Commissioner about it, that is, if necessary, to update data of their current DPOs ensuring not to list their private addresses and phone numbers as contact information for those persons.

This training was developed as part of the World Bank Project "Training Services for Data Protection Officers and Raising Awareness of Civil Servants in accordance with the GDPR, the Law on Personal Data Protection, and the Law on Information Security of the Republic of Serbia" aiming to improve the implementation of the Law on Personal Data Protection and the Law on Information Security.

On March 18, 2024, the Office of the Commissioner, in cooperation with the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue, held a training for representatives of Civil Society Organizations on the preparation and submission of Information Booklets and Annual Reports under the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance. The training was attended by numerous representatives of the said organizations, who had many questions regarding the practical application of the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance.
The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, Milan Marinović, and the Acting Assistant Minister in the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue, Žarko Stepanović, gave opening remarks, and the employees of the Commissioner's Sector for Reporting and Analytical Affairs Zlatko Petrović and Mirela Zozi Jeković conducted the training and were answering to questions.

On March 12, 2024, representatives of the Commissioner's Office, Marko Milošević, and Marin Cetinić held a hybrid training on the application of the Personal Data Protection Law. Interested persons who applied for this training could follow it through an online webinar. On the other side, the students who attend professional practice at the Commissioner, and new employees in the Office of the Commissioner, were introduced to the content from this field in person. With this approach about thirty persons were included in the training.

The lecturers introduced the participants to the concept of personal data processing and the application of data protection measures. To bring the matter closer to the participants, lecturers presented examples from the Commissioner's practice, where the most common daily work errors and personal data violations were pointed out, and the evolution of data protection measures was depicted as a continuous process. Training's interactivity ended in removing numerous doubts about the application of the right to personal data protection.
