Representatives of the Commissioner's Office, Maja Veličković and Marija Gladović, held lectures on personal data protection in Grocka Elementary School as part of the Caravan Digital Expedition 2023. Presentations on personal data, based on the children's brochure "Personal data is our treasure, how can we protect it?" were held for fifth and sixth-grade elementary school children. The children had the opportunity to learn how to use the Internet safely and to protect their personal data, how and with whom they can share it, and how the Commissioner can help them if the abuse occurs. Commissioner Milan Marinović, Deputy Commissioner Sanja Unković, and acting Assistant Secretary-General Slavoljupka Pavlović are participating in the event "Initiative 2020" from October 11 to 13, 2023, organized by the Information Commissioner of the Republic of Croatia.

This event is attended by representatives of authorities and bodies engaged in access to information of public importance from the territory of the former Yugoslavia.

The topic of the event is the current situation in the field of access to data of public importance and the protection of this right, with a special focus on the increasingly prominent abuse of this right, especially in Serbia and Montenegro, and finding ways to overcome this problem.

The Caravan of Digital Skills, Literacy, and Security - Digital Expedition 2023 visited Barajevo on October 6 and 7. On that occasion, representatives of the Commissioner's Office, Aleksandra Lakićević and Marija Gladović, held a training on personal data protection for fifth and sixth-grade elementary school children. This training aims to familiarize children with the basic concepts of this right, what personal data is, who to contact in case of abuse, and how the Commissioner can help them in this situation. "Personal Data is our Treasure, How Can We Protect It?" by Dragan Ilic, was also presented, children's brochure prepared by the Commissioner with the help of the "New Literacy" program, which is jointly implemented by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Propulsion organization. Custom-made TV spots for children related to this brochure were also created, and are currently being broadcast on numerous national, regional, and local stations.

The Office of the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection was visited on October 5 by students of the Faculty of Law from the Legal Clinic for the Protection of Whistleblowers who perform professional practice in the organization of the Pištaljka (The Whistle) portal, on whose initiative the visit was carried out. They were addressed by Marko Milošević, head of the Education Department, who introduced the guests to the institutional development and competencies of the Commissioner. The meeting explained to our guests how they can obtain information in the possession of public authorities, the purpose of the Information Booklet, and under what conditions a complaint can be filed. In the following discussion, the focus shifted to personal data protection, and students had the chance to learn more about these topics through illustrative examples from practice. It was also pointed out how much the right to access information of public importance can influence the work of whistleblowers.
