Commissioner Milan Marinović, Deputy Commissioner Sanja Unković, Acting Assistant Secretary General Dragana Stojković, and Senior Advisor Gordana Milić are participating in a workshop dedicated to the impact assessment methodology for personal data processing activities in the Ministry of Interior.

The workshop is being held in Vršac, organized by the Ministry of Interior with the support of the OSCE.

In their introductory speech at the beginning of the workshop, the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of conducting this workshop both for the lawful and high-quality execution of the Ministry of the Interior's personal data processing activities and streamlining the Commissioner's opinion on the Ministry of Interior impact assessments submitted to him, and especially its importance for more efficient exercising of citizens' rights to personal data protection. They also recalled the successful long-term cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior and the OSCE Mission to Serbia.

On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, a training on the implementation of the Law on Personal Data Protection was held in cooperation with the Serbian Association of Employers which took the organizational role of the training and invited all interested participants. The training was attended by 20 people in person and 57 people online from various branches of the business community. The training aimed to familiarize participants with the Law's general obligations, and to present our Office and lecturers in the context of further cooperation where training sessions should be focused on specific economic sectors. Aleksandar Kocić Ranđelović gave a presentation about the Commissioner's Office, and other presentations were held by Aleksandra Lakićević, Marin Cetinić, and Marko Milošević, while Nemanja Damjanović was answering questions from the present interacting participants. There were many questions for the lecturers, and conclusively the participants expressed satisfaction with the usefulness and duration of the training.

An agreement was reached with the Serbian Association of Employers to work out the next data protection topics and organize other training sessions custom-made for target groups, both in Belgrade and across Serbia.

Commissioner Milan Marinović and Deputy Commissioner Sanja Unković participated in the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2025) held from 3 to 6 March 2025 in Barcelona.

As part of the so-called GSMA Ministerial Programme, the world's leading forum for policymakers and global industry leaders from the mobile ecosystem and related industries, the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner participated as panelists in a roundtable on Future Proofing Data Privacy, which brought together Data Protection Authorities from Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America, and discussed issues of interoperability of data privacy frameworks from different regions and jurisdictions, the implementation of "data free flow with trust", and the need for data protection supervisory authorities to play a more effective role in implementing "smart" data privacy laws.

During February, the Commissioner organized training sessions within its jurisdiction for employees at private universities in Serbia who responded to the invitation – Metropolitan University (February 14), Educons University (February 19), and Alfa BK University (February 20). The training sessions were tailored for Secretaries of universities and single faculties, as well as for Information and Data Protection Officers. Introduction to the provisions of the Law and the obligations arising from this act was supplemented and illustrated with examples from the Commissioner’s practice along with the elaboration of individual cases in these areas. About forty employees attended the training sessions at these three universities.
