Commissioner Milan Marinović and Deputy Commissioner Sanja Unković participated in the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) meeting held on 10 and 11 February 2026 in Brussels. In addition to organizational issues regarding the Board’s Work Plan for the upcoming period, most of the time was dedicated to the joint opinion and positions of the Board and the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) on the so-called “Digital Omnibus Act”. The main topic of discussion was how to effectively protect citizens’ personal data in times of increasing digitalization and AI-driven personal data processing.

In addition, the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner held a series of bilateral meetings to inform their colleagues about their initiative to establish an E-Association of Data Protection Authorities from around the world.

On January 21, 2026, Commissioner Milan Marinović and Deputy Commissioner Sanja Unković met with Marina Dražić, Director of the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA), and her associates. At this meeting, an Agreement on professional and business-technical cooperation between the two institutions was signed.

Director Dražić emphasized that this agreement also envisages joint work on the development of specialist programs, implementation and support for research and analysis, as well as the exchange of professional and scientific knowledge in the aforementioned areas, which is of exceptional importance for improving the efficiency of various administrative bodies, and Commissioner Milan Marinović expressed his satisfaction that the agreement also envisages the organization of expert meetings and forums, cooperation with scientific and educational institutions, as well as the implementation of workshops aimed for local communities.

This cooperation represents an important step towards strengthening and improving the implementation of regulations in the field of the public's right to information and personal data protection, concluded Director Dražić and Commissioner Marinović.

On Wednesday, December 24, 2025, Commissioner’s Office accredited lecturers from the Sector for Education and Certification, Marin Cetinić and Marko Milošević, held a training on the implementation of the Law on Personal Data Protection and a training on the implementation of the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance for members of the European Law Students and Young Lawyers Association "ELSA" from Belgrade.

The training was attended by about 20 students. During the training on the Law on Personal Data Protection, the principles of the law were presented to the students, with legal grounds for processing, individual rights, and protection measures. The abuses of these rights were also demonstrated through illustrative examples from practice. When it comes to the implementation of the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance, the students were familiarized with the values that ​​are protected by this law and the most common mistakes in asking questions and formulating requests for free access to information, as well as characteristic missteps in the proceedings of first-instance authorities.

On Thursday, December 18, 2025, Commissioner Milan Marinović and Deputy Commissioner Sanja Unković held the first lecture for the second generation of students of the Study for Innovation of Knowledge in the Right to Personal Data Protection at the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade.

The lecture focused on the principles of processing established by the current Personal Data Protection Law, which, along with a constructive discussion, was presented to the students through a series of interesting examples from practice.
